And The Winner for Most Innovative Omni-channel Retailer?

John Gusiff of Customer Centric Solutions: And The Winner for Most Innovative Omni-channel Retailer?

Domino's Pizza? You kidding me? How did Domino's pizza become one of the most innovative omni-channel retailers?  A pizza delivery company of all companies.

Well, it starts with vision. A vision to deliver the same customer experience via any channel the customer choses:  Mobile App, SMS Text, Tweet, SmartTV, and more!  Approximately 50 percent of U.S. sales for Domino's Pizza are now from digital channelsThey are truely an e-commerce company when you think about it.

Dominoes has over 800 franchised outlets throughout the U.S. and they are continually innovating how your custom ordered pizza gets designed, ordered, made to order, and delivered right to your door. Helping customers order their favorite oven-baked pizza from anyone of their favorite digital devices.

Dominoes tested "delivery by drone" even before Amazon

Dominoes apparently was testing out "delivery by drone", with the Domicopter, even before Amazon announced their own drone concept. Checkout video of delivery test:

Now that would be pretty cool (or should I say hot) getting your pizza delivered by drone!

Dominoes launches fleet of Custom Pizza Delivery Vehicles

And they have even designed and built the first purpose-built vehicle aimed for pizza delivery. The Domino's DXP is a converted Chevrolet Spark that has been customized for delivery of large orders and special events with increased storage capacity (removed all seats except the drivers), special non-slip surfaces (so your pizza toppings stay in place) and special compartments for keeping your pizza "hot" right until delivery to your door.

According to Domino's president, one hundred of the DXP vehicles will be delivered to over 25 different markets around the country including rollouts in Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans, San Diego and Seattle.

Ordering a Pizza couldn't be Simpler or Easier than ordering right from your SmartWatch

Next time that meeting scheduled just before lunch is running late, simply order your pizza right from your SmartWatch. You can even use the Domino's Tracker to know when it will be ready for pickup or delivery.

With their smartwatch App, launched in March 2015, Dominos become the first pizza chain to allow customers to order from their watches -- a potential boost in the pizza industry's battle for digital sales. "Pairing Domino's with smartwatch technology couldn't be more of a natural fit," Kevin Vasconi, Domino's chief information officer, said in a statement. "We are constantly looking for ways to use technology to enhance our customers' experience and provide them with greater convenience."

Order your Domino's pizza from literally "AnyWare" you want

Heck, you can even order a pizza from your car dashboard, by voice command, on the way home from work. Now that's pretty convenient.

Simply setup your Domino's Pizza Profile with a saved Easy Order for one of your favorite pies and you are all set. Domino's can have it either ready for pickup or delivered to your door before you even get home.

Yes, you can literally order your Domino's pizza from "AnyWare" you want. Domino's with its "AnyWare" omnichannel ordering capability successfully executes on it's vision for delivering a custom ordered pizza that looks, smells, and tastes great from wherever you order it. This requires a well designed end-to-end integration of its' supply chain, manufacturing (making pizzas), and service delivery capabilities.
